Special Needs Resource Facilities

Temima High School is committed to educating young Jewish girls, including those with special needs. For this purpose, a long-term plan has been implemented that will eventually ensure our ability to educate girls with many types of special needs.

We offer diploma options based on State of Georgia requirements. We have joined with AMIT* in hiring a part-time learning specialist, Ellen Balk., who has her M.Ed. in Special Education and more than 20 years of experience as an educator, counselor and school administrator. She will identify areas of weakness in student and teacher performance, implement pull-out services and provide teacher-training and study skills seminars.

* The AMIT Community School Program was formed to address the need for support services for Jewish youth. It is affiliated with Jewish Educational Services. In addition, Ms. Balk oversees our special education teachers in self-contained classes for L.D. students and students with educational gaps in specific subject areas: Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Chumash, and Computer Science
