Temima Construction

Temima is fortunate to have some very dedicated volunteers who are working diligently to create a permanent home for our school.

The Building Committee is chaired by Seth Lynn. This committee's job is to attain building and zoning permits and to interact with the architects, contractors and professionals who will be involved in the actual building process. To date, Set and his team has successfully acquired the site, overseen the demolition of the building that was housed on the site and has obtained the necessary SLUPs or Special Land Use Permits required by Dekalb County in order to begin the building. He is working closely with our architect,Kyle Epstein of Epstein and Aassociates to further refine and perfect the building plans.

The Capital Campaign Committee is co-chaired by Halina and Alex Szlam and Honorary Co-Chairs are Etta Raye Hirsch and Lynda Walker. This commitee is focused on raising the funds required the build. To date we have raised 2.4 million towards our goal. The committee, which also includes Charlotte Marks and Rabbi Menachem Deutsch, is actively involved in soliciting the remaining funds. The leads gift for the Capital Campain was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Katz. Temima has been renamed, Temima, The Richard and Jean Katz High School for Girls in recognition of their generosity. Mr. and Mrs. Katz continue to be truly engaged and involved benefactors who only desire a safe and pleasant environment for their Temima girls.

About the Architect
A unique school with a unique parcel of land naturally necessitated a unique approach to architectural design. To design a building that is not only functional, but one that beautifully speaks to the character of the school we have a stellar team architect.

Kyle Epstein of Epstein and Associates is one of the "go-to" architects for Jewish schools and synagogues in Atlanta. He has been the lead architect in the design of the Alfred and Adele Davis Academy Lower and Middle School Campuses, Torah Day School of Atlanta, the new facility for Congregation Dor Tamid, and the current renovations and additions to Congregation Etz Chaim. Kyle has worked with Temima on our project for over two years and has become the foremost expert on the technical and design features of our future site.

Our goal is to design a building that outwardly reflects and dignifies the internal beauty of the Torah lifestyles our students embody. Through the hard work and dedication of this leading architect, we believe that goal will be accomplished.
